DUPNEE COMMEN - Portal Stone

Dupnee Commen is loosely translated to 'hole-in-the-rock'. A unique rock of unknown origin with a pierced hole through its centre lays in a mountainous valley in Northern Greece. Known only by the local highlanders from the nearby village of Kratero, this enigma became a marker for the area. Dupnee Commen is an expansion of itself representing the surrounding lush green valley which it sits upon.

I sculpted this version of the beloved Dupnee Commen so that it will expand and resonate the beauty of the surrounding area of wherever it is placed.

The minimized texture of quartz aggregate highlights the polished portal entrance which is layered with multiple tones of pearlescent exterior grade resin.
